Who Is Goosay?

Growing up in Boston, 27-year-old artist Goosay always felt a pull toward music — a passion sparked by family and fueled by years of dedication. “What really got me into music was my uncle,” he shares. “He’s a producer, and the first song I ever made was actually about pork chops with my cousin Kei.” It might’ve started off playful, but that moment lit a creative fire that hasn’t gone out since.

By the age of 8, music became a steady part of life — not just a hobby, but something deeper. “Even if I didn’t have music, I’d still be a hard worker. That’s just who I am,” he says. “I’d be helping my mom, staying focused, but music gave me a different kind of purpose.”

The journey wasn’t always smooth. Like many self-made artists, finding his unique sound took time. “I experimented with different flows and beats until I finally started to lock in,” he explains. “Now my songs are catchy and ambient — that took years to develop. But now that I’ve found my style, it’s all about mastering it.”

Describing his music, he says it best: “It’s ambient, catchy, and meaningful — depending on the beat and how I’m feeling. I like to switch up the mood and vibe of every track.”

That versatility shines on his favorite project to date: Before I’m Famous, his debut EP dropped two years ago. One standout track? “Sprinter.” “The ambience and mood of that song just hit different,” he says. “I love music you can chill to and nod your head to at night — that’s the energy I’m always chasing.”

As for influences, Lil Wayne stands tall. “The way Wayne can just hop on a song and make it his — it’s insane. No one does it like him,” he says. But it’s not just Wayne. A wide range of artists have inspired him to stay true to his voice while carving out something original.

And if the stars aligned for a dream collab? “Playboi Carti, no question,” he answers without hesitation. “I like Carti’s style and how he’s evolved. I feel like if we worked together, we’d make a banger for sure.”

With a sound that’s constantly evolving and a drive rooted in family and passion, this Boston artist isn’t just chasing music — he’s building something real. And if his past projects are any indication, what comes next is going to be even bigger.
