At just 21 years old, Revo, hailing from Calgary, Alberta, is already making waves in the rap industry. Growing up in a city where opportunities for self-expression were limited, especially within his religious background, Revo always felt the pull of music. From a young age, he found solace in writing lyrics, filling notebooks upon notebooks with his thoughts and rhymes. “I’ve been into rap music since I was a kid,” Revo reflects. “I still have notebooks full of lyrics from when I was 9 or 10.”
Despite these early passions, Revo didn’t have the means to share his music with the world. However, a turning point came when he decided to leave his hometown in search of connections to help get his voice heard. This decision marked the beginning of his serious pursuit of a career in music. His relentless hustle became the driving force behind his journey.
Revo speaks of his love for the studio: “I realized music was the way forward when I started getting addicted to the booth. It doesn’t even feel like work—it’s just somewhere I love to spend my time.” This addiction to the grind is what sets Revo apart. His dedication is unwavering. “The skill I’d least like to lose is my work ethic. The only reason I’m on the way up right now is because of all those nights staying up till 7 a.m., then waking back up at 10 to grind again.”
Revo’s vision is clear: to get his music heard across the globe. He aims to stay independent for as long as possible and take over the rap industry on his terms. His sound is rooted in trap music, but his latest project sees him expanding into new creative territory. “My style is definitely trap, but with this new EP, I’m incorporating a bit of singing and experimenting with different styles.”
The EP, titled Level Up, has been his favorite project so far. “It’s an introduction to a whole different side of music for me,” Revo explains. This new release showcases his versatility, as he continues to write, direct, and produce all of his work, taking pride in running every aspect of his career independently.
What sets Revo apart is his ability to bind all of his music together without relying on features. “Even without features, I can switch up the flow and sound to make each track different. That’s what I think is unique about my music.”
Among his musical influences, Revo cites Houdini and Gucci Mane as his biggest inspirations. “I wouldn’t say I’m like Houdini or even close, but I believe I took a little inspiration from his flow for my latest EP,” he shares.
Revo’s story is one of determination, hard work, and a relentless desire to share his music with the world. Despite coming from a place where his dreams might have seemed out of reach, Revo is proving that with hustle and vision, anything is possible. As he continues to rise, one thing is certain—Revo is leveling up, and the world is about to take notice.
