Meet Shooty, a Chicago-born artist who’s turning his life story into motivation for others. Born on December 6, 1998, Shooty is the second of twelve children and the first of ten on his mother’s side. Growing up in a crowded household, he learned early on that survival meant resilience—and that success wasn’t just personal, it was communal.
A Musical Calling from the Start
“I wrote my first song in third grade,” Shooty recalls. “Music has been with me for as long as I can remember.”
That connection only grew deeper over time. For Shooty, music is more than a hobby—it’s his anchor. “If it wasn’t for music, I’d probably be lost,” he says. “It’s the one thing I’m naturally willing to invest my time in, no matter what I’m going through.”
Through his lyrics and beats, Shooty changes moods, shifts perspectives, and inspires growth—both for himself and for his listeners.

Adapting, Growing, and Giving Back
One of Shooty’s most defining traits? Adaptability.
“I wouldn’t give up my ability to adapt for anything,” he explains. “Without the ability to learn and evolve, you end up stuck—and that can be depressing.”
He’s not just chasing dreams for himself. Shooty sees a bigger picture: “In 10 years, I want to be making a difference on a philanthropic level—sharing knowledge and creating opportunities for growth worldwide.”
Right now, the focus is the music. But it’s a strategic starting point. “I use my music to influence smarter life decisions while also expressing different vibes and aspects of who I am.”
Style on His Own Terms
When it comes to fashion, Shooty is still discovering his lane. “I don’t really have a fashion icon,” he says. “But if I had to pick someone, it’d be my cousin—the CEO of DevourCollections. If he didn’t build that brand, I probably would’ve. We have similar styles.”
Musical Influences and Evolution
Shooty’s sound is versatile. Depending on the vibe, you might hear traces of Lil Wayne, Kendrick Lamar, J. Cole, or even Eminem—his biggest inspirations. But don’t get it twisted: he’s not here to copy anyone.
“I haven’t heard anyone who sounds like me yet,” he says. “I’m speaking on my experiences, so naturally, my music is going to be different.”
His lyrical style is layered and intentional—full of wordplay and meaning. “My lyrics usually go deeper than the surface. There’s strategy behind it.”
Creative Process and Favorite Project
Ironically, Shooty finds inspiration when life is hectic.
“My best ideas come when I’m busy,” he laughs. “Sometimes I can’t get to the mic right away, and only a few of those hits make it through. But they’re always worth it.”
His favorite release so far is his EP, Popular Character Development. “It’s a reflection of where I started, what I’ve learned, and how I’ve grown. It’s probably the best way to understand who I am as a person.”
Looking ahead, he plans to branch into other genres and evolve his sound further. “Everything is becoming more professional, more critiqued. I’m leveling up with each step.”
Dream Collabs and a Bigger Vision
If given the chance, Shooty would love to collaborate with Wayne or Cole. “Just having a deep conversation with them would be life-changing. A track would be even better.”
Ultimately, Shooty is chasing more than fame—he wants legacy.
“The vision is to become bigger than your favorite mogul or artist. Legendary status,” he says. “I didn’t come from much, but if I can manifest these ambitions, so can the next person. You just gotta research and do it.”
