Who Is NGU Dreamboy?

Turning Dreams Into Reality Through Music

At just 20 years old, Jeremiah Traylor, professionally known as NGU Dreamboy, is building his identity as an emerging artist with a message that goes far beyond music.

Coming from the Philadelphia/Norristown, Pennsylvania area, Dreamboy has been connected to music for most of his life. His artist name represents the mentality he wants to carry throughout his career: NGU stands for “Never Give Up.”

For Dreamboy, those three words aren’t simply part of a stage name. They represent the lifestyle and message he wants listeners to associate with his journey.

“NGU stands for ‘Never Give Up,’ which is more than just my artist name it’s the message and lifestyle I want to represent,” he explains.

Finding His Voice Through Music

Dreamboy’s relationship with music started long before he viewed it as a potential career. Growing up surrounded by music, he initially began rapping for fun with friends at school.

By the age of 12, however, he was already taking another step forward and recording music directly from his phone.

What started as something fun gradually became much more personal.

Growing up, Dreamboy says there were times when he didn’t feel like he had much of a voice. Music gave him an outlet to express thoughts and emotions he wasn’t always comfortable saying out loud.

Whether it was pain, personal experiences or simply what was going through his mind, recording allowed him to put those emotions somewhere.

“Music became a way for me to vent and escape,” he says.

As he got older, he began realizing that the same outlet he had been using for himself could potentially become something he built his entire future around.

From an Escape to a Purpose

The realization that music could connect his experiences with other people changed Dreamboy’s perspective on what he was creating.

Instead of simply making songs, he began thinking about the person on the other side listening.

He could take something he had experienced, turn it into music and potentially reach someone going through a similar situation. The possibility of motivating listeners and giving them something they could relate to made music feel bigger than entertainment.

Once Dreamboy understood that, he says music became a purpose.

That mentality ties directly into the “Never Give Up” philosophy behind his name. His goal isn’t only to tell his own story, but to create something capable of encouraging other people to continue pursuing theirs.

A Sound That Doesn’t Fit Into One Box

Musically, Dreamboy describes his sound as primarily influenced by hip-hop and R&B, but he doesn’t want his creativity restricted by a single genre.

Instead, he wants his music to reflect whatever he’s genuinely experiencing at the time.

Some records may explore pain and real-life experiences. Others might focus on love, confidence, motivation or simply having fun.

“I don’t want to put myself in one box,” Dreamboy says. “I like being able to experiment and make music based on what I’m feeling.”

That versatility is an important part of the artist he wants to become. Rather than building a catalog where every song sounds or feels the same, Dreamboy wants listeners to experience different sides of his personality.

Creating From Real Emotion

That same philosophy carries into Dreamboy’s creative process.

There isn’t necessarily one formula behind every record. Sometimes hearing the right beat immediately gives him an idea of where he wants to take a song. Other times, the process begins with writing or simply thinking about something that’s been weighing on his mind.

The common element is emotion.

Because music originally became an outlet for Dreamboy to express himself, maintaining that authenticity remains important to him as he develops as an artist.

“I don’t want to make music just to make music,” he explains.

Whether he’s creating something centered around pain, motivation, confidence, love or having a good time, Dreamboy wants listeners to feel that there is a genuine emotion behind the record.

For him, making someone feel the music is just as important as getting them to hear it.

Entertainment Beyond Music

Even if music hadn’t become his path, Dreamboy believes he still would have found his way into entertainment.

Acting was once one of his biggest ambitions, and it’s something he would still like to pursue in the future. He also has an interest in comedy and dancing, opening the possibility for his career to eventually extend beyond recording music.

In today’s entertainment landscape, he could even picture himself becoming a content creator if music wasn’t part of the equation.

The platform might have been different, but the goal would have remained similar: entertaining and connecting with people.

That wider interest in entertainment could eventually become an important part of the NGU Dreamboy brand, allowing him to explore acting, dancing and digital content alongside his music career.

The Meaning Behind “Dreamboy”

When asked which ability he would least want to sacrifice, Dreamboy doesn’t point toward rapping, writing or performing.

Instead, he chooses something deeper: his ability to think, dream and envision a bigger future for himself.

His imagination and ability to picture what his life could become are fundamental to the person and artist he wants to be.

It’s also where the “Dreamboy” portion of his name takes on its meaning.

Dreamboy doesn’t want to simply imagine achieving something he wants to put in the work required to turn those ideas into reality.

“I don’t just want to dream about things I want to work toward making those dreams real,” he says.

From recording songs on his phone at 12 years old to pursuing music seriously at 20, Jeremiah Traylor is still in the early stages of writing his story. But the foundation behind NGU Dreamboy is already clear: authentic expression, creative freedom, ambition and a refusal to give up on the bigger vision.

For Dreamboy, the name isn’t just something listeners see beside a song.

It’s the message behind everything he’s trying to build.
